Okie so I know it's been a while. A long time actually but at first I just had nothing interesting to say and then I had no time to say the interesting things. Ha well maybe that's a stretch to say that they're the interesing things. Haha first we'll start with GRADUATION!!! Haha I finally graduated. Well I say finally but honestly it has gone by so incredibly quickly. It's amazing to sit here by myself and think that I have a degree. But enough about my personal reflections on value. For my graduation President of the United States came. It was really pretty awesome to hear him talk, and make fun of Michael Crow. It was not fun however to get the Sun Devil stadium 4 hours before the ceremony and chill out in the sun. Well perhaps chill is the wrong word.... My good friend Kara also graduated with her PhD and she got to walk across the stage and shake the President's hand! So that was commencement, and then for convocation I was chosen to be the Senior of the Year so I got to sit up on the stage the entire ceremony. That was pretty fun but I had to keep reminding myself not to fidget because everyone could see me. That was the hardest part. Oh and figuring out how to spell my name phonetically: hi-Dee zip-EAR-ian, ya that was the best I could come up with. But it worked. Then I walked across the stage and almost got spun off it when my professor hugged me. That was pretty fun though I have to say. I'll never forget it. Then we took some family pictures outside which will perhaps get posted eventually, after I remember to transfer them to my computer and give them to Abbey (since she threatened me ; ).
So that was graduation. The next day I'm sitting at home and thinking it was fun but kind of a huge letdown. Then I realize it's because I still had to give a final presentation to the Grand Canyon in Flagstaff. And I had to make sure my project worked since my teacher (the one who hugged me) was threatening to fail me if it didn't work... But we did get it to work and I was able to go to Flagstaff and give my awesome presentation (because basically our team was the best) and then go on a three day trip floating down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon! That was possibly the most fun I have ever had on a trip. But I was super happy to come home and hang out with my bucket and my nephew for a couple days while Abbey and Ben went on an anniversary night. It was pretty crazy being a single mother of two for two days but thankfully I crashed a party late at Kara's and she was nice enough to take us in for a couple hours, and we also went to a movie for Kyndal. Random thought about the movie... it seems like more and more cartoon movies are really for adults, the jokes I hope go over the head of small children. Did I just miss those things when I was small or is this a new development? Anyway, then I got to spend the rest of the week with Abbey before I left. It was a little weird because I had this motto. I planned everything I'd be doing in New Mex, everything that was happening when I get to Michigan, but never not once did I let myself think about leaving. I couldn't take it. But it was fun to hang out and not have to worry about school.
Now the hard part...leaving. It was kind of nice because leaving makes you think about everybody you're actually leaving, you work really hard to see all of them. So I got to have an amazing fun road trip with Sarah, see movies with Anton and Matt, hang out with Scott, and then cry with Abbey. Now that I'm back in New Mex I've also gotten to see a lot of friends because I'm leaving, and I get to stay with one of my friends on the way to Michigan! It's really really nice being able to do that and have fun but at the same time it's ridiculously sad. I would say something about leaving Abbey but I can't. Let's just leave it as I'm WAY excited to see her and my bucket and nephew in three more days when we go to Pagosa! And then I'm excited to see Kara later this month and maybe Sarah! Okie I think that is all the catching up I have : )

Do you want to know how awesome I am?
Well too bad I don't want to explain. So for school I have to make these portfolios detailing out evidence of how awesome I am in 8 different areas. Problem Solving, Engineering Practice, Critical Thinking, Communication, Technical Competence, Design, Perspective, and Professionalism. Ya. It's awesome. Not only do I have to have actual documented evidence, but I have to explain the evidence from the point of view of an evaluator telling how the evidence is good or bad and why everyone else should think I'm awesome too. This is tedious and annoying but the real issue is that first, a lot of my evidence covers different areas that I'm evaluating. So people reading them see the same dang piece of evidence all over the place and it loses its meaning. At least it does to me. But it's all I've got.... Second, there is just an insane amount of formatting that has to be done. I'm not the kind of person that can handle one portfolio being different from all the rest. So they all have to have the same font, the same sizes and the same layout or it has to all be done again. This takes flippin forever. When I'm writing 13 page documents for each portfolio (not including the copies of the actual evidence, this is just my evaluation of the evidence), the sheer volume just overwhelms. Sadly I've been working on this hard for the past year but my progress is slow.... Now all 8 have to be done before Friday because on that day I get evaluated on all of them.... by people who have never met me. Well we'll see how this goes...
On the bright side, if anyone doubts my ability to think critically at a Level 3 (out of 4) in 6 different areas, I can show them baby! BAM.
*This might be used as further evidence of how awesome I am.

the island of lost toys
I maybe actually lose things quite a bit...maybe more than the average person. I'm not completely sure but I'm pretty sure that I do. I lost my passport for a while, more than one set of keys, a camera battery charger, and the latest and greatest disaster.....my ipod. I'm going to blame these losses on the fact that I have so many important things going on in my mind that I put it down somewhere and then don't remember where. Or just more stuff on my mind that I don't pay attention to these little details.... But whatever the reason, it happens. The ipod though is physicallly making me distressed. I think about it all the time and I am so physically annoyed that I start shaking if I think about it too long. Here's why it bothers me so bad. I have looked EVERY possible place that I can think of. This might seem like an exaggeration. But it is not. With the help of Abbey I have not only looked but scoured every possible place every nook and cranny that I can think of. To no avail. I'm not used to this kind of rejection from anything which is making my annoyance even worse. Aside from having no music I am thwarted by every attempt to look. I get my hopes up every time I think of a new place thinking oh my gosh it must be there! And then BAM!!!! YOU LOSE HEIDI! So harsh! I am so annoyed that I almost bought a new ipod today to just be done with it. Thankfully I guess Abbey saved me from that. I just am tired of this inaction. So if anyone has any ideas of an OBSCURE location I may have overlooked please let me know. For the record I have looked in all food storage areas of my house, my clothes pockets, cars, and under the bed. Lame.
Speaking of lame, saw Monsters and Aliens last night and I think the best line was Rainn Wilson at the beginning saying in a monotone "The Omega Quadrant? LAAAMMEEE." Ha

Random Quirks
So everyone has their own little quirks, we all know that, but what I find is funny is when you discover them later on in life. I mean you have done these all your life probably but one day you just wake up and realize that it's really weird. Haha I had that realization earlier and I almost can't get over how kind of odd it is. Okay so here's my oddity: Everywhere I go, no matter how far or how close I am continuously calculating the most efficient path to get there. Taking into account what stops I have to make, the paths that are along that route and everything. I even constantly think about they hypoteneuse of a triangle and the most direct path I can take so that I don't wind around and everything. I think this is why I really am paranoid about being lost or not knowing all the different ways around. If I don't know where I'm going or the most efficient route I get internally stressed or something. This is also why the new buildings at school bug me because the paths they have between buildings are not straight, so there's no good way to get through them. But ya I do this all the time, if I have to stop at the bathroom on the way to class I go through all the bathrooms to see which is most convenient to go to. Ya but I just realized that it is really weird... haha good thing everyone has quirks.

This is just too easy...
Every once in a while something truly beautiful comes along that I just cannot pass up being completely and totally judgemental on. It's just way way too easy. I can't even help it. CNN, the holy grail of biased media. However, they are supposed to be excellent journalists right? Oh ya baby, just look at the 'quick votes' they put up on their website. They use these for public opinion poles which I understand can be informative.... Here is their current quick vote:
"How would you rate Obama's first 50 days in office?"
Legitimate question right. Although honestly how much can you tell from 50 days, but that's beside the point. The President's approval rating is really key in the media's perception of how the president is doing. Now here are the options that you can choose when voting:
Yes
No
Yup. Prime Journalism at it's best. The best part is 4200 genius people have actually voted in this retardness of a poll. I honestly laughed so hard I almost cried. I couldn't believe it. Hahahahaha fantastic I must say. So now you know the kinds of things that I just can't hold back on. I just have to comment. Although I comment on many many things I actually try some restraint once in a while.... but not in this case.
