So...trying to fill out applications for grad school. Great fun that is let me tell you. And with the pressure of trying to study for the Graduate Records exam, and not fail any of my regular plain old undergrad classes, it's even more fun. But that aside, what my deal is, I don't know how to sell myself. I have to write letters for each school to get them to believe that I'm going to be good for their school. I can't just let my academic record or my merit really speak for itself and I don't know how to say I'm ridiculously awesome. Trust me. Haha so that's seriously putting me in setback mode but hopefully my meeting with the chair of my department will help.... Maybe I need an English major to help me...

For mine it was all about lining up your research interests with professors that worked there, so they knew you someone to work with once you got there. Otherwise, I remember several schools I met with commenting on how they liked my enthusiasm for history . . . but I'm not sure how I conveyed that through the graduate essays. Maybe its just evident that I'm that much of a nerd. If you need help, give me a call- I'm a GREAT proofreader (just ask my students, I catch EVERYTHING!) which can be useful even I'm not totally sure about what your content should be.
That would be awesome. I'm going to try and write them this weekend/next week sometime so a proofreader would be awesome!
I'm here for you! If you come to my house (since you're in the neighborhood and all now!) I'll even feed you stuffing whilst I proofread. :)
